This watch station is designed to be a machine for safety observation. A ramp leads you into a space open to light, beach and water views, but is sheltered from direct sun and rain. The end space is an observation deck closest to water view. The station is equipped with first aid kits and eyewash tower for both public and lifeguard use.
Lightweight wood frame construction allows the station to remain light, as the solid massing in “safety red”, allows for the station to be directly recognizable to any patron of the water in need of aid. The frame also allows for kayak/canoe and oar hanging storage, as other equipment can be stored below.
The station is in four connective assemblies, allowing for quick disassembly prior to major windstorms.
