The house sits on 5 acres of picturesque landscape and is a privately owned horse farm. The project brief called for a total house remodel, with the extension of a new patio at the walk-out basement level, and the addition of an exterior staircase from the first-floor deck down to the basement level. Serving as an Apartment BNB on the weekends; within the basement are a full and private kitchen, dining and living rooms, as well as a secondary suite - bedroom and en-suite. The upper floors were both remodeled in-place in many rooms, with new electrical fixtures, furnishings, and window additions, while the Kitchen, Bonus Room and Dining Room were fully reimagined. The house takes its aesthetic cues from the "Transitional-Farmhouse" style, inclusive of a large covered front porch with partial wrap, board and batten siding material, black and white themed exterior, and is contextual to Kentucky. The existing barn on-site also underwent extensive renovations, with the addition of new windows, new siding and roof, and now matches the main house aesthetic.
