Phase 1
Built in 1956, this 1 ½-story Cape Cod style house was in need of many repairs. It had sat for almost two years - empty - and served as a rental property until it was sold in 2013.
Upon the new owners taking possession, and as a result of sitting empty for so long, the chimney had to be rebuilt at the exterior, the roof was replaced in its entirety, and the windows were replaced due to having been broken and leaking. The windows were changed from wooden single hung to both casements and awnings, flat slab hollow wooden interior doors to single inset solid core panels, wall colors toned down to white, and interior recessed lighting was installed as the house had little to no lighting.
The clients are art and Mid-century furniture collectors. The house had to include placement for all of their many pieces, as well, had to include space for a growing puppy at the time.
