Built in 1947, this bucolic style house was in great need of repair, remodeling, and re-programming. The project brief called for a total house remodel, with the extension of a new dormer housing 2 bedrooms, shared bathroom, study center, and storage space at the second floor. The first floor called for the removal of the existing metal awning across the front allowing natural light to come in, a new primary suite, relocation of the kitchen and dining room, a new mud room, and a new walk-in pantry/laundry room - the entrance hidden within the kitchen casework and can be accessed from the primary closet. The existing front porch was refurbished, with new railings, cleaned concrete, and new lighting installed. The front door was replaced and updated with lites, to allow for natural light and visibility, while the windows across the house were replaced and updated per residential building code. At back is a newly installed deck, which can serve as an extension for outdoor dining, grilling, and seasonal activities.
